Microsuction is a safe, quick and thorough method of ear wax removal. This is carried out under direct vision with an illuminated microscope. This method is suitable for impacted wax, foreign bodies, urgent removal, and treatment of external ear infections.
At Aurient Medical Consulting Ltd we provide a microsuction service for the removal of ear wax. Ear wax problems affect the outer ear. The ear is the organ that helps control hearing and balance. The outer ear is the pinna (the part that we can see) the ear canal where was is produced and collects and the surface of the ear drum. A normal amount of ear wax is healthy and helps maintain the ear by trapping and preventing dust, bacteria and small objects form entering the ear and damaging it. It is produced in the ear canal and the chemicals in it help to fight infections and collect debris. Ear wax usually makes its own way out of the ear taking any foreign bodies (dust, bacteria, and small objects) with it. Occasionally wax is produced excessively and needs to be removed as it may affect hearing or cause infections. Ear wax is one of the most common causes of hearing loss. If you think your ears are full of wax you should never poke anything in the to remove it as the ear, in particular the ear drum are very delicate and could easily be damaged.

We have seen children as young as 2 years of age. As long as a child can sit still we can safely remove wax or foreign bodies from the ear. We often see children of school age who are highlighted as inattentive in class and are often deemed as disruptive, when they in fact are asking for help as they are finding it difficult to hear. Hearing loss can cause a delay in speech and language development.
The appointment will take up to 30 minutes.

Book AppointmentNosebleeds are not usually a cause for concern but if they start to occur frequently they may be a sign of a more serious problem. If you get nosebleeds more than once a week it is advisable to see a doctor. Most cases of frequent nosebleeds can be treated easily.
At Aurient Medical Consulting Ltd Dr Paul can carry out a procedure called Nasal cauterisation. A chemical is used to stop any bleeding points that are found in the nose. This is a very effective and pain free technique for treating persistent nose bleeds.

The inner ear detects sounds by converting vibrations into nerve signals which help to detect movements, gravity and acceleration, this is the information that the brain needs to maintain balance and posture. Small crystals in this part of the ear occasionally migrate out of place and this can lead to feeling dizzy and loss of balance, Vertigo. At Aurient Medical Consulting Ltd we can carryout manoeuvres to alleviate these feelings. These manoeuvres help to reposition crystals in the ear relieving these unwanted symptoms and restoring balance.
Appointments for the treatment of vertigo will take up to 30 minutes
